CloudCruise.com alternative

CloudCruise runs browser workflows defined by a graph, action descriptions and input/output schemas. Its automation-hour price includes VM infrastructure, proxies and AI. Replacing that managed business-process service requires more than matching the price of an isolated Linux runtime.

When CloudCruise fits

CloudCruise fits teams that want reusable browser workflows, managed recovery and product-specific support or contract options. The workflow graph and maintenance controls can be valuable parts of an existing automation application.

When to consider Sandbox0

Consider Sandbox0 when you need to own the agent’s Linux toolchain and retain its entire writable RootFS across tasks, including installed packages and growing output data. You supply or retain the workflow engine, models, recovery logic and compliance arrangements needed by your application.

Online RootFS growth

On growth-enabled images, Sandbox0 automatically expands the writable RootFS as free space runs low, within a configured sparse logical ceiling up to 64 TiB. Agent processes keep running. Growth is enabled in the qualified Cloud region; confirm activation for other regions. Existing images and snapshots retain their captured storage geometry. The ceiling is logical capacity, not preallocated host disk.

CloudCruise retains workflow definitions and offers run-file delivery, but its reviewed contract does not establish online growth or full writable Linux RootFS retention. Sandbox0 addresses installed dependencies, system configuration and accumulated files around an agent implementation.

Files while compute is paused

Sandbox0's Files API reads persistent files without resuming compute. Filesystem-only pauses also permit edits; retained-memory pauses are read-only and reject mutations with 409. SSH, SFTP, file watching, and runtime-only mounts require running compute.

A run-file URL can deliver an existing artifact without rerunning that workflow, but it is an expiring object download, not an API to inspect and edit the complete paused Linux RootFS. Copy long-term outputs before link expiry.

A workflow is reusable automation context

CloudCruise stores a directed automation graph, natural-language action/UI descriptions, schemas and error cases. Its settings expose recovery controls such as selector repair, action timing and requeueing transient outages. Porting to another runtime means preserving that behavior in application code or continuing to call the managed workflow.

A run’s file links have a separate retention contract

Downloaded files are returned as signed_file_url values with an explicit expiry, default seven days and configurable from one hour to seven days. Each download redirects once to a URL valid for 60 seconds. Keep the original signed link for its valid period and copy required outputs to your own durable storage before it expires.

Bundled automation hours differ from raw compute hours

The price page defines one automation hour as 60 minutes of workflow runtime and includes VM infrastructure, proxy and AI usage. Starter includes two hours before the published $3/hour rate. A lower raw compute unit alone does not reproduce the managed workflow, models or maintenance behavior.

Compare billing models, then price your workload

CPU allocation, memory, billing minimums, disk, plan fees, and supported workload differ. These meters are not equal-performance machine quotes. Confirm region, resource units, and included allowances before estimating a total.

Compare the whole managed-workflow bundle with the application you would operate on Sandbox0, not only the VM component. The public Scale card does not establish an unlimited execution allowance or a fixed extra hour pool. The file-download guide describes signed-link expiry; it should not be reinterpreted as a promise to retain every filesystem byte forever.

Sandbox0

$0.015/GiB-hour compute (billed by the second at approximately $0.000004167/GiB-second), plus $0.02/GiB-month of retained incremental RootFS and memory checkpoint data. Shared base images and platform recovery retention are excluded; paused sandboxes accrue storage charges only.

A 4 GiB agent, 100 running hours

$6.00 compute

4 GiB × 100 hours, billed by the second. Keeping 20 GiB of billable incremental data for a full billing month adds $0.40. CPU is derived from memory by the platform; choose a tier that fits your workload.

Before migrating from CloudCruise

  1. Export workflow graphs/schemas, recovery settings and required run files, recording link expiry, contract terms and real automation-hour usage.
  2. Run compatible agent/workflow code on Sandbox0 or retain CloudCruise as a managed tool; configure models, proxies, credentials and failure handling explicitly.
  3. Validate business outcomes, retries, durable system tools, RootFS growth, paused file access and full models/proxies/workflow plus runtime costs.

Common questions

Is Sandbox0 a drop-in CloudCruise replacement?

Evaluate API compatibility and product scope. These products serve different core workflows, so a change may require a different architecture.

Does keeping files also keep a running agent?

Filesystem state and volatile process state are separate. Sandbox0 requires explicit compatible memory checkpoints to preserve running processes; its default filesystem resume starts fresh processes.
