Cloud infrastructure / Hostinger VPS alternative

Hostinger VPS alternative for agent state

Hostinger KVM VPS already provides a full installed Linux machine with persistent software and files. Its advertised monthly figure is an equivalent for an upfront-paid plan, while renewal and CPU-credit behavior change the long-running cost/performance comparison. Separate these from the agent lifecycle you want between tasks.

When Hostinger VPS fits

Choose Hostinger VPS for direct machine administration, its panel and included hosting/network features. Keep the complete VM and predictable plan allocation when those features and subscription terms suit the workload.

When to consider Sandbox0

Consider Sandbox0 for a compatible agent runtime whose complete durable RootFS grows online and whose compute can pause between tasks, with supported paused-file operations. Evaluate gVisor/kernel requirements and retain any Hostinger-specific hosting integrations.

Online RootFS growth

On growth-enabled images, Sandbox0 automatically expands the writable RootFS as free space runs low, within a configured sparse logical ceiling up to 64 TiB. Agent processes keep running. Growth is enabled in the qualified Cloud region; confirm activation for other regions. Existing images and snapshots retain their captured storage geometry. The ceiling is logical capacity, not preallocated host disk.

Hostinger already preserves full installed VPS files and configuration. Disk capacity grows through a whole-plan upgrade with documented completion time and a top tier, rather than automatic online expansion of the agent’s durable RootFS as free space runs low.

Files while compute is paused

Sandbox0's Files API reads persistent files without resuming compute. Filesystem-only pauses also permit edits; retained-memory pauses are read-only and reject mutations with 409. SSH, SFTP, file watching, and runtime-only mounts require running compute.

Backups and retained VM files differ from native read/write operations throughout a paused RootFS. SSH, guest tools and helper restore workflows require compute; the reviewed VPS contract does not establish that offline file interface.

Full files persist, but capacity follows the whole plan

Hostinger says files and configurations stay unchanged during a VPS upgrade. Individual RAM or disk resources cannot be upgraded separately; the complete plan must change. The upgrade can take up to ten minutes, and KVM 8 is the top tier. This is different from low-space-triggered online RootFS expansion.

CPU credits affect sustained intensive work

The guide describes a 60% credit baseline and about three hours at full CPU from a full balance. At exhaustion, it lists 40% capacity for KVM 1 and 30% for KVM 2/4/8 until recovery. One formula line uses a different baseline from the prose/examples; confirm the effective account policy before sizing sustained jobs.

Introductory and renewal amounts are different

All plans are paid upfront; the monthly figure divides the total by the plan duration. The current KVM 1 offer and its two-year renewal equivalent differ. Choose a duration, then compare the cash payment and renewal terms rather than treating a promotional monthly equivalent as hourly usage billing.

Pricing

Compare billing models, then price your workload

CPU allocation, memory, billing minimums, disk, plan fees, and supported workload differ. These meters are not equal-performance machine quotes. Confirm region, resource units, and included allowances before estimating a total.

Before migrating from Hostinger VPS

  1. Record selected duration/upfront and renewal totals, KVM size, CPU-credit policy, system/data files and backup state.
  2. Export consistent complete system/user state and configure compatible agent tools on Sandbox0 while keeping needed hosting services.
  3. Test tool retention, online growth, paused files and total active runtime, retained storage, subscription renewal and network costs.

Common questions

Is Sandbox0 a drop-in Hostinger VPS replacement?

Evaluate API compatibility and product scope. These products serve different core workflows, so a change may require a different architecture.

Does keeping files also keep a running agent?

Filesystem state and volatile process state are separate. Sandbox0 requires explicit compatible memory checkpoints to preserve running processes; its default filesystem resume starts fresh processes.
