Huawei Cloud AgentArts alternative

Huawei Cloud AgentArts combines managed agent applications and built-in tools, including browser sessions and code interpretation. Browser profiles can persist through OBS, while runtime storage has its own configuration. These are different state layers from a complete returning Linux RootFS.

When Huawei Cloud AgentArts fits

AgentArts fits teams wanting Huawei-integrated agent deployment, authentication, networking, observability and browser tools. Its profile loading, LiveView and managed application features can be useful independently of a raw sandbox runtime.

When to consider Sandbox0

Consider Sandbox0 for the execution layer of an agent you control, with retained system packages, online whole-RootFS growth and supported paused-file access. Keep or rebuild the agent platform, browser-control, identity and observability integrations separately.

Huawei Cloud AgentArts and Sandbox0: what persists?

Online RootFS growth

On growth-enabled images, Sandbox0 automatically expands the writable RootFS as free space runs low, within a configured sparse logical ceiling up to 64 TiB. Agent processes keep running. Growth is enabled in the qualified Cloud region; confirm activation for other regions. Existing images and snapshots retain their captured storage geometry. The ceiling is logical capacity, not preallocated host disk.

AgentArts runtime storage configuration and OBS browser-profile persistence are acknowledged. The reviewed sources do not establish automatic online growth of the entire writable Linux RootFS. Profile size, attached storage and a system filesystem growth ceiling are different quantities.

Files while compute is paused

Sandbox0's Files API reads persistent files without resuming compute. Filesystem-only pauses also permit edits; retained-memory pauses are read-only and reject mutations with 409. SSH, SFTP, file watching, and runtime-only mounts require running compute.

OBS profile data can outlive browser sessions, but fetching that archive is not full-RootFS access to a paused agent. The reviewed runtime/browser guides do not establish the complete paused read/write interface provided by Sandbox0.

A browser profile is real persistence with a specific scope

The browser guide stores cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage in profiles exported to OBS and loaded into later sessions. Its default idle timeout is 900 seconds; stopping a session closes connections and destroys the container. Profile reuse does not establish preservation of all Linux paths or arbitrary process RAM.

Agent hosting and browser tools have separate contracts

CreateCoreRuntime deploys an agent image with identity, network, resource and optional storage configuration. The browser tool instead starts a dedicated browser session. A storage attachment and a profile archive should not be merged into one claimed complete-system persistence contract.

CU conversion comes before currency pricing

The September 28, 2026 billing PDF assigns runtime CPU one CU per vCPU-hour and runtime memory 0.1 CU per GiB-hour; code-interpreter resource rows use the same factors. Currency tiers then apply to total monthly CU. These resource rows are not an independently published browser-session rate, and memory-bank events are separate billed dimensions.

Compare billing models, then price your workload

CPU allocation, memory, billing minimums, disk, plan fees, and supported workload differ. These meters are not equal-performance machine quotes. Confirm region, resource units, and included allowances before estimating a total.

$0.015/GiB-hour compute (billed by the second at approximately $0.000004167/GiB-second), plus $0.02/GiB-month of retained incremental RootFS and memory checkpoint data. Shared base images and platform recovery retention are excluded; paused sandboxes accrue storage charges only.

Before migrating from Huawei Cloud AgentArts

  1. Identify managed-agent runtime versus browser/code-interpreter tool, image/storage settings, profiles, identity and CU/subscription terms.
  2. Export required files and profiles and port compatible execution to Sandbox0 while preserving the surrounding agent/browser platform where needed.
  3. Validate installed tools, lifecycle recovery, RootFS growth, paused files and all CU, storage, network and model charges.

Common questions

Is Sandbox0 a drop-in Huawei Cloud AgentArts replacement?

Evaluate API compatibility and product scope. These products serve different core workflows, so a change may require a different architecture.

Does keeping files also keep a running agent?

Filesystem state and volatile process state are separate. Sandbox0 requires explicit compatible memory checkpoints to preserve running processes; its default filesystem resume starts fresh processes.
