Agent coordination / Manufact alternative

Manufact MCP hosting alternative

Manufact builds, hosts, tests and monitors MCP servers and apps. Its platform includes cross-client checks and publishing support. An agent’s persistent Linux machine sits at a different layer from the managed MCP distribution and operations platform.

When Manufact fits

Choose Manufact for managed MCP hosting, request inspection, testing and publishing workflows for ChatGPT, Claude and other clients. Keep those developer and marketplace capabilities when they are the reason for choosing the platform.

When to consider Sandbox0

Consider Sandbox0 for compatible Linux execution with retained tools and a whole growing RootFS. You still need to operate the MCP server, authentication, routing, observability and any testing or publishing process you require.

Online RootFS growth

On growth-enabled images, Sandbox0 automatically expands the writable RootFS as free space runs low, within a configured sparse logical ceiling up to 64 TiB. Agent processes keep running. Growth is enabled in the qualified Cloud region; confirm activation for other regions. Existing images and snapshots retain their captured storage geometry. The ceiling is logical capacity, not preallocated host disk.

MCP requests, project quotas and application scale differ from an agent’s installed Linux toolchain and growing complete RootFS. Sandbox0 supplies the runtime state layer; MCP operations and publishing remain separate responsibilities.

Files while compute is paused

Sandbox0's Files API reads persistent files without resuming compute. Filesystem-only pauses also permit edits; retained-memory pauses are read-only and reject mutations with 409. SSH, SFTP, file watching, and runtime-only mounts require running compute.

Stored analytics and MCP application data are different from direct access to supported files throughout a paused Linux RootFS. The reviewed hosting contract does not establish that full machine-level interface.

Hosting, testing and publishing share a platform

The current offer combines deployments, inspection, analytics, evaluations and marketplace checks. Project and request allowances describe the MCP application service; they do not establish a checkpoint of a customer-controlled complete Linux machine.

Credits cover several kinds of metered activity

Monthly credits can cover requests, builds, tests and other usage. They reset monthly even on a yearly subscription. Paid request allowances are soft caps with pay-as-you-go continuation, while Free stops at its allowance; configure a spend limit when additional usage must be bounded.

Billing period changes the displayed Hobby price

The yearly-selected price is $25 per month, billed as $300 yearly, with $30 of monthly credits. The machine-readable index still lists additional older plan names. Use the current pricing table and effective checkout for the purchased plan rather than combining inconsistent catalogs.

Compare billing models, then price your workload

CPU allocation, memory, billing minimums, disk, plan fees, and supported workload differ. These meters are not equal-performance machine quotes. Confirm region, resource units, and included allowances before estimating a total.

Credits reset monthly. Plan access and metered usage are separate: an included feature can still consume credits. The annual price is not a month-to-month charge, and included credits do not imply a universal VM CPU/RAM tariff.

$0.015/GiB-hour compute (billed by the second at approximately $0.000004167/GiB-second), plus $0.02/GiB-month of retained incremental RootFS and memory checkpoint data. Shared base images and platform recovery retention are excluded; paused sandboxes accrue storage charges only.

A 4 GiB agent, 100 running hours

$6.00 compute

4 GiB × 100 hours, billed by the second. Keeping 20 GiB of billable incremental data for a full billing month adds $0.40. CPU is derived from memory by the platform; choose a tier that fits your workload.

Before migrating from Manufact

  1. Inventory MCP servers/apps, authentication, deployment settings, tests, publishing checks and effective subscription billing.
  2. Port compatible server or agent execution to Sandbox0 and retain or rebuild the required MCP service controls.
  3. Test persistent tools, RootFS growth, supported paused files and total credit, model, runtime and operations costs.

Common questions

Is Sandbox0 a drop-in Manufact replacement?

Evaluate API compatibility and product scope. These products serve different core workflows, so a change may require a different architecture.

Does keeping files also keep a running agent?

Filesystem state and volatile process state are separate. Sandbox0 requires explicit compatible memory checkpoints to preserve running processes; its default filesystem resume starts fresh processes.
