A TinyFish alternative for agent runtime

TinyFish offers a managed web agent and a directly controlled remote browser, with different usage meters. Its current Wallet pricing is pay as you go. Compare which decisions the service performs for you and where the rest of your agent’s tools, files and long-term state will live.

When TinyFish fits

TinyFish fits teams that want managed browser tasks with model inference bundled into Agent steps, or a direct browser controlled through CDP. Saved Browser Context Profiles help recurring authenticated workflows start with the expected state.

When to consider Sandbox0

Consider Sandbox0 when you want to run and customize the agent’s Linux toolchain and retain the complete writable RootFS as it grows. A managed browser or web agent can remain an external tool; Sandbox0 compute pricing does not include TinyFish’s bundled agent model work.

Online RootFS growth

On growth-enabled images, Sandbox0 automatically expands the writable RootFS as free space runs low, within a configured sparse logical ceiling up to 64 TiB. Agent processes keep running. Growth is enabled in the qualified Cloud region; confirm activation for other regions. Existing images and snapshots retain their captured storage geometry. The ceiling is logical capacity, not preallocated host disk.

TinyFish’s retained browser context and bundled artifacts do not establish an expanding, customer-controlled Linux RootFS. Sandbox0 addresses system-package, configuration and filesystem continuity around the agent, with its own storage and runtime charges.

Files while compute is paused

Sandbox0's Files API reads persistent files without resuming compute. Filesystem-only pauses also permit edits; retained-memory pauses are read-only and reject mutations with 409. SSH, SFTP, file watching, and runtime-only mounts require running compute.

Browser-profile management is distinct from reading or modifying an agent’s Linux files while compute stays paused. The reviewed TinyFish docs do not establish that whole-filesystem interface.

Agent steps and direct Browser minutes buy different work

The current price page separates managed Agent execution at $0.016 per step from Browser at $0.002 per minute. Agent pricing bundles model inference, proxies and artifact storage described by the offer. Do not add a second provider-model charge to that bundled Agent rate or equate one step with a completed workflow.

A saved context profile is reusable browser state

Browser Context Profiles save cookies and storage for future Agent runs. A setup session is saved explicitly; sites can later expire authentication or require MFA. The direct Browser API describes isolated sessions, while browser runtime profiles such as lite/stealth configure behavior rather than saved login state.

Inactivity and wallet exhaustion are independent controls

The Browser guide defines inactivity as no CDP commands and documents configurable inactivity termination, with plan-specific maxima. That is not a total active-session limit. The current pricing page separately says a run already underway can finish when the Wallet reaches zero, while new paid Agent/Browser work needs funds.

Compare billing models, then price your workload

CPU allocation, memory, billing minimums, disk, plan fees, and supported workload differ. These meters are not equal-performance machine quotes. Confirm region, resource units, and included allowances before estimating a total.

Wallet Agent
$0.016 per step
Default two concurrent Agent runs; model inference is included according to the current offer.

Wallet Browser
$0.002 per minute
Default five concurrent Browser sessions; this is a different product meter from Agent steps.

New account credit
$8 Wallet credit once
No recurring plan minimum; minimum top-up is $10. Optional Auto Reload is separate.

Search and Fetch
Free within published limits
Search: 30 requests/minute and 500/hour. Fetch: 150 URLs/minute and 1,000/day.

These are the current Wallet pay-as-you-go rates, not legacy credit subscriptions. The Browser guide still describes free/paid plan inactivity maxima of 15/60 minutes; confirm your Wallet account’s effective timeout rather than assuming those old plan labels define a new subscription or an active-session duration. Search and Fetch remain free at zero Wallet balance within their limits.

Sandbox0

$0.015/GiB-hour compute (billed by the second at approximately $0.000004167/GiB-second), plus $0.02/GiB-month of retained incremental RootFS and memory checkpoint data. Shared base images and platform recovery retention are excluded; paused sandboxes accrue storage charges only.

Compute / GiB-hour
$0.015
Retained data / GiB-month
$0.02
Paused compute

A 4 GiB agent, 100 running hours

$6.00 compute

4 GiB × 100 hours, billed by the second. Keeping 20 GiB of billable incremental data for a full billing month adds $0.40. CPU is derived from memory by the platform; choose a tier that fits your workload.

Before migrating from TinyFish

  1. Separate Agent tasks from direct Browser sessions, record Wallet versus legacy billing, and export required outputs and permitted profile data.
  2. Port your own compatible agent/tools to Sandbox0 or keep TinyFish as a managed web tool, supplying authentication and durable result handling explicitly.
  3. Test expired-login repair, inactivity behavior, retained system dependencies, RootFS growth, paused files and complete step/minute plus runtime costs.

Common questions

Is Sandbox0 a drop-in TinyFish replacement?

Evaluate API compatibility and product scope. These products serve different core workflows, so a change may require a different architecture.

Does keeping files also keep a running agent?

Filesystem state and volatile process state are separate. Sandbox0 requires explicit compatible memory checkpoints to preserve running processes; its default filesystem resume starts fresh processes.
