Agent testing / Halluminate alternative

Halluminate alternative

Halluminate is a research and data company building benchmarks and reinforcement-learning environments, with a current focus on financial-services and consulting workflows. Its task design and verifiable rewards address a different need from giving each production agent a durable Linux computer.

When Halluminate fits

Halluminate fits AI labs or teams seeking expert-authored financial tasks, managed training environments and evaluation methods. Keep that data and grading layer if the goal is measuring or improving a model’s domain capability.

When to consider Sandbox0

Consider Sandbox0 when the requirement is the execution environment for your own agent, with retained system tools and growing whole RootFS. You must supply or license the tasks, simulator, evaluation harness and reward logic; raw runtime compute does not replace Halluminate’s research/data product.

Online RootFS growth

On growth-enabled images, Sandbox0 automatically expands the writable RootFS as free space runs low, within a configured sparse logical ceiling up to 64 TiB. Agent processes keep running. Growth is enabled in the qualified Cloud region; confirm activation for other regions. Existing images and snapshots retain their captured storage geometry. The ceiling is logical capacity, not preallocated host disk.

Halluminate provides domain tasks and managed training worlds; the reviewed material does not establish automatic growth of a customer’s full Linux RootFS. Sandbox0 can retain system packages, configuration and growing agent data, while evaluation content remains a separate layer.

Files while compute is paused

Sandbox0's Files API reads persistent files without resuming compute. Filesystem-only pauses also permit edits; retained-memory pauses are read-only and reject mutations with 409. SSH, SFTP, file watching, and runtime-only mounts require running compute.

Benchmark datasets and simulator outputs are different from reading or editing an entire paused Linux RootFS. The reviewed Halluminate materials do not establish that file-operation contract.

Expert task design is part of the offering

The current homepage focuses on economically valuable knowledge work, and the vendor index describes financial professionals authoring training problems with verifiable rewards. Buying an environment here can include domain-specific content and grading, not merely a machine with software installed.

A simulated website is different from a production account

Westworld describes realistic software simulations for controlled browser-agent evaluation and training. Such simulations help define tasks and inspect outcomes without making every run depend on a live third-party application. They do not themselves establish production-account access or the persistence policy of a general-purpose Linux runtime.

Benchmark results need their task and harness context

Halluminate’s current financial-diligence work describes multi-step problems evaluated with native CLI harnesses and its own computer/tool-use harness. Preserve the task, harness and verifier when interpreting results. Those scores do not establish equivalent throughput, compatibility or runtime behavior on Sandbox0.

Pricing

Compare billing models, then price your workload

CPU allocation, memory, billing minimums, disk, plan fees, and supported workload differ. These meters are not equal-performance machine quotes. Confirm region, resource units, and included allowances before estimating a total.

$0.015/GiB-hour compute (billed by the second at approximately $0.000004167/GiB-second), plus $0.02/GiB-month of retained incremental RootFS and memory checkpoint data. Shared base images and platform recovery retention are excluded; paused sandboxes accrue storage charges only.

A 4 GiB agent, 100 running hours

$6.00 compute

4 GiB × 100 hours, billed by the second. Keeping 20 GiB of billable incremental data for a full billing month adds $0.40. CPU is derived from memory by the platform; choose a tier that fits your workload.

Before migrating from Halluminate

  1. Identify the exact licensed tasks, simulator versions, harness, rewards, data rights and managed-service terms you need to retain.
  2. Run compatible agent/harness code on Sandbox0 where appropriate, supplying the licensed simulator and verifiers rather than assuming raw compute replaces them.
  3. Validate task reproducibility and grading, durable system dependencies, RootFS growth, paused files and full data/service plus runtime costs.

Common questions

Is Sandbox0 a drop-in Halluminate replacement?

Evaluate API compatibility and product scope. These products serve different core workflows, so a change may require a different architecture.

Does keeping files also keep a running agent?

Filesystem state and volatile process state are separate. Sandbox0 requires explicit compatible memory checkpoints to preserve running processes; its default filesystem resume starts fresh processes.
